New general manager for Gwynedd Shipping in Deeside

Gwynedd Shipping Limited, a leading haulage operator with operations across the UK & Ireland, has recruited a new general manager at its Deeside depot.

Matthew Farrall, who hails from Chester, was born into the logistics industry and worked for his family business for 12 years. He left in 2015 to go to the University of Huddersfield and while studying for a degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, spent time working for a range of logistics providers including Palletforce, Hoyer and Clipper Logistics. After achieving a first-class honours degree, Matthew joined Hellman Worldwide where he worked as a Sales Account Manager.

As part of his role he’ll take charge for the growth and management of Gwynedd’s pallet network, warehousing and general haulage operations across the UK and will report to managing director, Andrew Kinsella.

Commenting on joining Gwynedd, Matthew (28), who’s a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), said: “I was keen to grasp the chance to apply my skills and experience. Gwynedd is relatively new to the pallet network industry, so I feel there’s plenty of opportunity to grow and develop this side of the business.

“I hope to bring a young yet fairly experienced fresh set of eyes to the business. With my modern management approach, I’m confident I’ll enable the company’s staff and customer base to thrive. I’m looking forward to making a positive difference to Gwynedd’s growth strategy.”
