A transport and logistics firm in Bicester has received a national award in recognition of its outstanding performance from Palletways UK, Europe’s largest express palletised freight network.
Darcica Logistics, a member of the Palletways UK network, received a Platinum Award – the company’s highest accolade – for operational excellence and consistently high service and sales performance in supporting its customers this year.
The Award was presented to Darcica at a Gala Dinner to celebrate Palletways’ 30th anniversary. To qualify for a Platinum Award, members had to grow their year-on-year volumes across both domestic and European markets, continually achieve outstanding service levels, undertake active engagement with the Armed Forces community, and drive forward sustainable practices.
Darcica Managing Director and Founder, Anthony Tattersall, said: “Darcica Logistics is thrilled to be recognised within the top ten of the Palletways network for our service, growth and sustainability. The support and shared values of the network are what drive us forward to a better future, delivering our customers goods more efficiently.”
Warwick Trimble, Network Director at Palletways UK, adds: “It is a delight to present Darcica with this Platinum Award and we thank them for their ongoing efforts in driving the network forwards. The company is an advocate for sustainable logistics, having implemented paper packaging instead of plastic and the use of recyclable clear plastic shrink pallet wrap. They’ve introduced electric vehicles, including its first fully electric 3.5-tonne truck, saving tonnes of CO2e a year and uses renewable energy within its depots. This drive for sustainable logistics, which is matched with an uptick in business from companies who market sustainable products too, makes them a worthy recipient this year.”
Supporting ex-servicemen and women through employment is close to Palletways’ heart, having pledged its support to the Armed Forces Covenant in January of 2022, and achieving the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award eighteen months later. Darcica signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant itself this year, as part of its ongoing partnership with Palletways.
In addition the company has just been shortlisted in the industry-leading Motor Transport Awards 2024 for Team of the Year and Sustainable Transport. Winners will be announced in September.
Warwick continues: “As a business, our focus is on growing our pallet volumes and providing our customers with a service that’s fast, efficient and reliable. Our Platinum Awards highlight the dedication of our members and recognise their contribution towards achieving our goals throughout the year.”
