Quality Service Drives RAK Contract Renewal With Palletways UK

The UK’s leading and most trusted palletised freight network, Palletways, is rewarded for its service quality with contract renewals, and says customers are considering its Excellent rating on Trustpilot during renewal conversations.

This has led to two Palletways members, Surrey-based Frederick R Miller and Palletways Birmingham in Lichfield, welcoming in their fourth year with RAK Ceramics, despite tough competition tendering for the win.

RAK Ceramics is a global lifestyle solution brand specialising in ceramic and gres porcelain wall, floor, countertop tiles and sanitaryware. Looking for a higher level of service for its palletised goods, and value-added within its logistics relationships, the company was introduced to Palletways in 2020.

Both Palletways members are sole hauliers for RAK Ceramics, responsible for shipping around 2,000 pallets a month from RAK’s showrooms and warehouses. Palletways Birmingham moves approximately 800 pallets a month, a figure which often doubles at peak times, transporting a wide range of palletised products. Frederick R Miller moves the remaining pallet volumes for the ceramic specialist, shipping palletised tiles from Petersfield across the UK and into parts of Europe.

Head of Operations at RAK Ceramics, Melanie Johnson, says: “Palletways has provided a sustained level of both value and service since we started working with Frederick R Miller and Palletways Birmingham. In the last four years, we’ve built close relationships with them both; they’ve worked well together to identify and implement improvements and cost-saving measures to benefit us.  The flexible service, open approach to customer care and commitment to RAK UK and our customers, means we’re delighted to continue this partnership for 2024.”

Warwick Trimble, Network Director for Palletways UK, said: “We’ve worked with RAK for four years now and the dual member contract and their strong working relationship is testament to the leading, quality service we provide to our customers and their customers in turn.

“DIY activities have seen an upsurge since the pandemic with online sales of home improvement and gardening retail products increasing year on year. We have the flexibility as a business to scale up and down and rise to the challenge of meeting customer needs at peak times too.”
