Investment gains pace at Cross Country Carriers

19.06.2017 –
Bury St Edmunds-based logistics firm Cross Country Carriers has invested in expanding its fleet to meet the growing demand for freight services across the country.

Cross Country Carriers is a member of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network. The company has taken delivery of two new DAF rigid trucks in the new company logo to support both its general haulage and Palletways divisions.

Jon Humphry, Managing Director said: “Continually investing in the best equipment to maintain and improve our service is paramount to the business, in order that we can deliver the best possible service to our customers at home and abroad. This fleet addition means we have extended our collection and delivery window for our customers.”

Cross Country Carriers, founded in 1978, offers a range of logistics, courier and warehousing services. It specialises in single and multi-pallet distribution, including half and quarter loads which means they are able to offer a complete cost effective pallet delivery solution.

It also provides an ideal warehousing location next to the strategic A14 corridor with easy access from the Port of Felixstowe and good road links for onward distribution.

The business will shortly be offering customers a new service, ETA – Estimated Time of Arrival – that gives Palletways members the ability to notify their customers of two hour delivery time slots and consignment contents, which will significantly enhance customer service.
